Meet The Creators – GLBDEX
Tell us a little bit about yourself, and your background before getting into NFTs.
Hi everyone, Paul from Proton NZ here! I think most people may know me from my memes and GIFs but behind the scenes I’m also creating many of the Proton/Metal NFT’s for the marketing campaigns as well as running GLBDEX, the 3D Asset Marketplace for the Metaverse.
How were you introduced to NFT’s?
I was first introduced to NFT’s back in 2018 when I came across a project I loved called pepedapp. I was in it for the memes and collected a bunch including a rare 1 of 21 Satoshi Nakamoto. There’s an interesting story behind this project, they used the ERC420 Dank Standard which was a rare and interesting fungible standard. Using the 21 Edition Satoshi Nakamoto for example, there is no serial number so all 21 Satoshi cards have the exact same value.
Why did you choose Proton Blockchain to host your collection?
Proton is very unique as it’s both user friendly and extremely powerful. The WebAuth.com onboarding experience is super smooth and easy, even my Mum can do it.
There are no gas fees, you get a human readable username for a wallet, KYC available on chain to verify artists, multi currency support with xtokens, fiat on ramp… the list goes on!
Atomic Assets, the NFT standard we use on Proton, is also great because anyone can create their own website or marketplace and connect to the same contract on chain and access all the same assets and trade them seamlessly, decentralization in action!
Tell us about your collection and the inspiration.
As many of you know Proton NZ is working very hard on our metaverse expansion project, with Stage One being the Orbital Platform on GLBDEX. It’s an incredible demo showcasing where we are headed with WebXR on Proton and I can’t wait for you to see what else is on the horizon.
