In this guide, we’ll show you how to create a new Proton account and how to convert your Lynx account to a Proton account.
How to create a new Proton account
Step 1: Download the Lynx wallet and open the wallet.
Step 2: Click on Proton to get started.
Step 3: Enter your phone number and click on ‘Get Started’.
Step 4: Enter the 6-digit code that was sent to your phone number.
Step 5: Enter your full name (this can be changed later) and on the next screen you can choose your Proton username. Enter your desired name (this cannot be changed) and click on ‘Finish’.
You can send and receive Proton (XPR) with this username on the Proton blockchain. You can’t send or receive wrapped ERC-20 XPR to this wallet as ERC-20 isn’t supported. A conversion tool to convert XPR to ERC-20 and vice versa is in development.
Step 6: Your Proton account has been successfully created! You can create 3 Proton accounts per phone number.
How to convert your Lynx account to a Proton account
Step 1: Download the Lynx wallet. If you haven’t already and open the wallet.
Step 2: Click on your profile picture and click on ‘Account Settings’.
Step 3: Click on Resync accounts. Your Proton account will be available after the resync.
