Meet Proton’s Block Producers: Proton NZ & EOSphere

With 21 block producers working on Proton, and more waiting to join their ranks, our distributed network of block producers work around the clock to keep Proton running smoothly, quickly, and with no downtime.

For most people who use Proton, you only think about our block producers when you stake your XPR. Staking XPR requires you to choose four block producers; this shows who you think more of the block rewards should go to, so block producers are always incentivized to interact with our community and explain why they deserve your vote.

We’re taking the time today to highlight two of our block producers that wanted to introduce themselves to the Proton community: Proton NZ and EOSphere. Let’s learn more about them, what they do, and why they believe in the Proton blockchain.

Introducing: Proton NZ

Give us a quick intro on your project
Proton NZ is New Zealand’s first and only Proton BP, our goal is to bring awareness to users in NZ about blockchain technology, specifically Proton Chain and it’s advantages as well as providing local support. All of our Proton NZ servers are hosted locally, here in New Zealand.

Where do you see crypto / DeFi going in the next 1-2 years?
I believe that we’re going to see the further mainstream adoption of blockchain technology. More stable coins are likely to come online for different fiat currencies around the world. DeFi is going to explode in popularity. I also see a bright future for NFT’s and interoperable digital assets within games and virtual experiences.

Why did you choose to be a block producer on Proton?
As a long time follower and fan of Marshall Hayner as well as Metallicus we understand the goals, ambitions and vision of the Proton Chains creators. We chose to be a block producer on Proton because we see first hand how this technology can empower people from all over the world to connect and trade securely and efficiently. We want to represent New Zealand and help empower kiwis through education to be on the forefront of this technological revolution.

Why should Proton users vote for you as a block producer?
We are 100% focused on Proton Chain and we are committed to building the community and ecosystem around Proton. Focused heavily on user experience, we provide help guides and how to’s on our website, https://protonnz.com.
Our long term goals are to develop products and services that take advantage of Proton Chains technological advantages.

What’s your opinion on Proton as a project?
The Proton team is full of absolute rock stars and the developers are ninjas, check out ProtonProtocol on Github and you’ll see what I mean. The project itself is extremely robust being built off the back of EOS with some very smart changes to the way things work under the hood. I’m a huge fan of Proton Chain’s focus on UX and ensuring the technology is easily understood and used by consumers and businesses alike. Having first hand experience with Proton is the best way to form an opinion on it so my advice to anyone reading this is to download the Proton Wallet if you haven’t already and go try using Proton Swap following the guides on our website.

Introducing: EOSphere

Give us a quick intro on your project
EOSphere is an Australian based and registered PTY LTD business headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. Committed to EOSIO technology we aim to serve the entire EOSphere enabling community growth and EOSIO platform adoption through provision of foundational block producer services and initiatives.
Our primary function is to effectively provide the block producer services required to support thousands of commercial scale DApps which requires not only an agile and secure enterprise scale infrastructure solution, but also a mature operational structure to govern, monitor, maintain and manage an EOSIO blockchain.

Where do you see crypto / DeFi going in the next 1-2 years?
Mainstream adoption is inevitable especially in finance where trust and investment returns have been questionable in recent times. We prefer to speak of BlockChain where we see the smart contracts become a staple in application development and delivery of services that have been hindered by 3rd party (middleman) interference.

Why did you choose to be a block producer on Proton?
We joined the Lynx network because of the awesome Lynx Wallet and it’s success. When this network transitioned to Proton we felt comfortable with the team and other Block Producers Involved. Proton is designed for consumer usability including providing an excellent mobile wallet that has been created  to seamlessly work with decentralised applications. Proton is a fantastic example of enabling mainstream adoption of blockchain technology through enablement of a positive user experience, which is directly aligned with our values as EOSphere.

Why should Proton users vote for you as a block producer?
Ultimately EOSphere can be considered as Good Actors and Excellent Custodians of the Proton Network as well as other EOSIO chains existing and soon to be launched. We have the required technical expertise, professionalism and infrastructure; we sponsor and support the best initiatives; we are upstanding members of the global community, highly visible and easily contactable; and we aim to make Proton the user and business friendly platform it was built to be.

What’s your opinion on Proton as a project?
We are very positive in regards to the future success of Proton. Proton has some of the best BP’s in the EOSIO space, the best block explorer bloks.io and a kick ass wallet that still provides that awesome newbie onboarding experience we came to love from Lynx.

Anything else you’d like to share with our community?
Being at the centre of the EOSIO community, we found ourselves getting multiple EOSIO product development requests from businesses and start-ups, so we decided to service this need.
We launched a EOSphere {/dev} as a branch of EOSphere to focus the business on strategic consulting services and expert EOSIO blockchain engineering skills. We have been successfully providing these much-needed services to companies and enterprises adopting this groundbreaking new open-source platform.
In February of 2020, we rebranded EOSphere {/dev} as Rewired.one, with a more intentional focus on serving enterprise clients. From the start, due to our corporate background, we sought to support blockchain technologies with strong organisational alignment.
Rewired.one are passionate about helping customers avoid unrealistic blockchain use cases and to focus on the real-world use cases only. Use cases that shift current thinking and provide tangible outcomes. We are committed to bringing the Proton network into the conversation with our customers.
